Apex Executive Recruiting was founded in 2000 by Mark Cannistraro and is headquartered in Redondo Beach, California. Our firm was founded with the mission of providing value added consulting services to both our client companies and candidates in the area of staffing and career development. Apex specializes in building “world class” sales and marketing organizations with national and international reach in the surgical device and pharmaceutical industry with a strong emphasis on start-up companies. Apex is a member of the First Interview Network and consistently ranks in the top 5% of 200 offices nationwide.

Mark Cannistraro

Mark is the Managing Partner and founder of Apex Executive Recruiting Inc. He brings over 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the Medical and Surgical Device Industry. He has held executive management positions with premier companies such as Intuitive Surgical, Karl Storz Endoscopy, Stryker and Xomed Surgical. This real world experience enhances his consulting capabilities for both clients and candidates to ensure prudent decision making in regards to staffing and career development.

Bill White

Bill joined Apex Executive Recruiting as Vice President in 2005. He started his career in 1995 and brings over ten years of executive search experience to the firm. His first six years were based in the high tech arena where he worked with major firms such as Stanton Chase International, Computer Generated Solutions and BearingPoint Consulting where he served in several different management capacities. In 2001 he transitioned into the Surgical Device Industry when he joined Karl Storz Endoscopy as Manager of Recruitment. At Karl Storz, Bill was successful in building a world class sales and marketing team for this international surgical device manufacturer.

Breanna O’Toole

Breanna joined Apex as an Executive Recruiter in 2013. She has fourteen years of outside sales experience; ten of which in the medical industry. After graduating from UCLA she began her career in B2B sales for Steelcase Inc. In 2003 she joined Pfizer as a sales representative where she spent 3 successful years selling in the office and hospital environments. In 2006 she continued her career in healthcare when she joined Ethicon (J&J) as a medical device representative. While at Ethicon she received club-level achievements to include “Elite Club” (highest commission earner over 3 year period), President’s Club and multiple $20k Stock Awards. Her line of products focused her efforts in highly competitive surgical markets such as: cardiothoracic, hernia, bariatric, plastics, and neuro/spine. Breanna’s experience as an accomplished sales professional give her the astute ability to identify highly qualified candidates and match them accordingly.

Carly Hooper

Carly joined Apex as an Executive Recruiter in 2018. She has 17 years of outside sales experience in the medical industry. After graduating from UNC Wilmington she began her career in B2B sales for Pitney Bowes. In 2001 she joined Daiichi Sankyo as a sales representative where she spent 8 successful years selling pharmacueticals in the office environment. In 2009 she joined Ethicon (J&J) as a medical device representative working in private and hospital space. Over her tenure she won many awards such as Presidents Club, Elite Club and the prestigious “Rep of the Year”. Her line of products included the competitive market of hernia mesh, bariatric, neuro, plastic and cardiovascular. In 2012 she joined Mentor, the asethetics division of Johnson and Johnson. Carly successfully worked with plastic surgeons in a highly competitive field winning many awards and contests. Carlys accomplished career in various types of medical sales gives her the ability to identify highly qualified candidates and make the right match.

Mary Grace Stoll

Mary Grace joined Apex Executive Recruiting in August 2018. She brings extensive experience in both field sales and sales management. This includes over five years of sales experience in medical device (Mentor, J&J) and fifteen years of sales management experience. (Pfizer, Astra Zeneca) She has had a distinguished career achieving top awards at every position she has held, to include a “Hall of Fame” career as a sales manager. Mary Grace’s accomplished career in both medical sales and sales management give her a unique ability to help customers identify and hire the right person to meet their needs.
